This summer we were very lucky to help the wonderful Malena find her perfect dress for her perfect day. Usually being a bridal shop we only ever get to meet the bride, it’s on the odd occasion we get to meet the lucky groom. However, meeting the two of them was incredibly special and, the love they feel for each other is instantly visible.
The Day
Malena and Joshua’s wedding take us all the way to Sweden. For not one but two wedding days. “We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding weekend! On the Friday, we had our wedding ceremony in a temple in Copenhagen and later a family dinner with personal and heartfelt speeches. Then on the Saturday we had a procession and reception with 300 family members and friends. The reception was held in a Manor House in the beautiful countryside in the south of Sweden.”
The Dress
Malena wore the ‘Prunelle’ by Pronovias with bespoke sleeve design to fit her needs perfectly. With it’s tight fitting slinky crepe design and lace detail over the bottom and sides it gave Malena that effortlessly perfect look for her laid back country wedding. Malena tells us more about finding her dress… “I found finding the right dress really difficult to be honest. I looked at hundreds of dresses online and tried on many dresses in bridal stores both in Sweden and Denmark, but I couldn’t find the one…” “Until my sister in law brought me to House of Snow in Bury St Edmunds, England. There I met Harriet, who was so lovely and helpful. She helped me to pick out a few dresses that I then tried on. I loved all of them, but when I came out in one of them, my sister in law just stared at me and said “WOOOW”.” “When I looked in the mirror and saw that the dress fitting my body shape perfectly and I started to realise that I had found THE dress.” “The only problem with the dress was that it was sleeveless, and I really wanted to have a dress with long sleeves. But for Harriet that wasn’t a problem, she told me not to worry about it and that everything was possible. If I wanted long sleeves, then I should have long sleeves! They ordered the extra fabric to match my dress and then the seamstress Lara, who really is a heaven sent angel, helped me with all the alternations. The dress was altered and done in less than a week! And dress was just P E R F E C T!”
About the Day
“When Joshua and I walked into the venue on the Saturday filled with candles, chandeliers, and hanging lights from the ceiling, it felt like we walked into a fairy-tale! Then when I saw that the whole venue was filled with family and friends that both Joshua and I love, I just couldn’t help but cry. It made me so happy”. “The dance party that followed was one of the highlight of that evening! I love to dance, and I just loved seeing all my friends and family dancing and being so happy”! “I get all emotional thinking back on that weekend. I hope I will never forget the feelings of love and happiness that I felt. I have never been this happy in my entire life… And the best part is that, that weekend was just the beginning of a happy and loving marriage.”Suppliers –
