Christie & Sean’s wedding
Christie was a true delight to have as a House of Snow Bride. She has such a wonderful positive attitude and she always brought the fun and laughter with her, every time she came into the boutique. We will truly miss having Christie in the boutique for fittings and a good old chin wag. So, we just had to find out all about Christies big day and you will see for yourselves the wonderful amount of love and laughter Christie and Sean share.
Christie and her husband Sean tied the knot this summer, on Saturday 4th August 2018 at The White Heart, Essex barn in Great Yeldham. We asked our beautiful bride Christie to tell us all about her spectacular day, so we could share with all.
VENUE
“We chose The White Hart because we used to pass it every day when we was going shopping at Freeport in Braintree… in the 10 years of us being together and passing that building we had never gone in, but every time we passed it said we needed too – there was just something about it that made us want to go in, but never got round to it! We was not expecting to book the venue on the day we eventually decided to visit, we popped in for Sunday lunch, had a chat with the staff there… looked around… and we just fell in love, and before we knew it had put a deposit down for in 5 1/2 months’ time!! Bring on the stress – haha!”
THE THEME
“It sounds corny I know… but what a fairy tale of a day! The theme was ‘Rustic’… the reason being I suppose is Pinterest!! We gave ourselves only 5 1/2 months between setting the date and the big day, so most of the inspiration and reason for the theme was Pinterest and being nosey on Instagram at themes, we knew straight away that’s what we was going for. The venue suited perfectly to the whimsical rustic theme with its beautiful country setting and stunning barn.
THE DAY
“The feel of the day was light hearted, fun, chilled but at the same time HOT HOT HOT… I think it was one of the hottest days of the year! But It really was just so beautiful! Some weddings can feel quite structured, but our day flowed so well. We had a pianist… Bella Rose and a guitarist Lawrence Hill playing throughout the day which was just so lovely. Halfway through the day our photographer came and grabbed me and Sean asking us to follow them as they had found this stunning, well-hidden meadow behind the barn… as you’ll see from the pictures, it was a real find!”
FAVOURITE PART OF THE DAY
“Oh man! That’s a tough one, I bet every bride says this but just the whole day in itself, the fact that all our family and friends whom we love so much was altogether in the same building as us. It’s just such a surreal and wonderful feeling to know everybody’s there to share your special day with you.”
THE DRESS
“I’m not really a girly girl, so wasn’t very sure what I wanted. The only thing I really knew was that I wanted something that would cover my big arms up – haha! House of Snow was our first place we tried… we heard lots of positive things through word of mouth, so I knew I wanted this to be our first port of call. When we arrived Hattie greeted us, which was so lovely as me & Mum knew her out of work a little bit anyway so it immediately put me at ease – my anxiety is always a little high when doing new things and meeting new people!
Hattie told us to try a selection of different style dresses on firstly & I think I came across THE dress after trying around 5 or so on. I loved it, absolutely loved it… although there were no arms! Hattie then put a shawl type lace part on and WOW, I knew that was the one!! We would need to adapt it a little to have the additional shawl part at the top of the dress, but I knew that was the one.
It felt amazing! My Mum and best friend (maid of honour) Lauren was with me and they were welling up! The whole experience at House of Snow was just so lovely, stress free and we had a right laugh along the way… before I knew it I had said Yes to the Dress!!”

WORDS OF WISDOM
“Don’t stress! Because it does go so quickly (easier said than done I know) and try to take a little ‘time out’ sessions throughout the day with your husband/wife, just to take it all in, as it’s SO easy to get caught up in the madness of the day, maybe just wonder off for a little walk – just to embrace it with one another 🙂
One thing I would say, and I know many people said it to me and I kinda shrugged it off – as you do when you’re stressed and only give yourself 5 and a half months to plan the big day… is just to have faith in your plans, everything does come together. All the different bits and bobs you’ve organised, purchased, hired, borrowed… will all come together on the day and fit in. That was one of my big worries, it was like I wanted a trial day, so I could take everything there I’d organised, so I could see how it all looked before the big day! But it does all come together on the day, it really does… & if anything’s missing or you’ve forgotten a certain detail – no-one notices, no-one knows what to expect… so don’t worry anyway, just enjoy your day and let the rest flow naturally. :)”
