“We didn’t look into many venues, after going to many other weddings we had already been too, so we had an idea of what we did and didn’t want. The main thing we wanted to have was everything to be in one room, and our guests not to be separated. I had been to a few open wedding events at Stoke by Nayland Golf & Spa, and I knew the place well, we loved how big and bright their biggest event room was, and well the views are just stunning!
The wedding planners at Stoke by Nayland Golf & spa are truly amazing, they really know their stuff, they made sure everything from planning, to the beginning and end of the day ran smoothly and the day went without a hitch!
Like most new brides to be, Pinterest was everything to me when it came to pick different ideas and themes. I knew very early on that I wanted everything very modern, white and fresh looking. Our vision came together perfectly, and the room looked amazing! Jades flowers (Florist) had completely transformed the room with our flowers, I was completely blown away when I had walked in the room once it was finished!”
Expectation of the food: When we did our food tasting, I was super excited to eat the food as it was amazing!
Reality of the food on the day: The food had gone down beautifully, like I knew it would with all our guests. I did not end up eating as much as I should have, I spent more time chatting with all my guests.

Tell us about finding the dress? How did you know it was the one?
“After meeting Harriet at my friends dress fitting, I knew I wanted to come back to House of Snow when it was finally my turn, as she was so bubbly and friendly. I had gone to one other shop and left feeling super defeated… but then I did come to House of Snow, I had a completely different experience! I had seen a dress that I adored online that I knew House of Snow had, so I just had a hunch I would love it. I did try on others at my appointment which were still beautiful (I mean they are wedding dresses) but when I did put my dress on, I just knew it was the one I had to get married in.”
Expectation of finding the dress: After watching “Say yes to the dress” I had that kind of picture in my head that is what the day should be like. – Ladies it really is not (It is a TV show).
Reality of finding the dress: It was so much fun coming out of the changing room in all these different dresses and showing my family that I had taken with me. It really was such a special day that I will remember forever.

The Morning of your big day
Expectation: Me getting super stressed out at the thought of being late!
Reality: I had a really chilled morning with all my bridesmaids and mum, we drank Prosecco and just chatted all through the morning. Although I did get a little stressed when it was time to get my dress on… But I wasn’t late! Bonus!
The Cake Cutting
Expectation: We felt that as it was a tradition in weddings, you think it is such a integral part of your day.
Reality: It is a bit of a blur, I do not actually remember doing it at all, I think I was just eager to get our first dance done.
The First Dance
Expectation: That we would feel awkward and look quite robotic
Reality: We pretty much laughed at ourselves the wholetime, it made us so much more relaxed and we had chosen an upbeat song – which made it much more fun once our guests had joined us on the dancefloor.
